About
I am a multidisciplinary artist from Corpus Christi, Texas. Prior to earning my MFA at the University of Georgia, I graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a BFA as well as a BA in Spanish. Initially a realistic figurative painter, my practice has come to include typewritten visual compositions, animatronics, and music.
I play with electronics. I make sensational objects. I draw and paint idiosyncratic figures. I romanticize myself as emerging from the artist’s lair with offbeat sculptures, renderings of peculiar characters, strange thoughts and writings, acts of mad science produced in isolation. I create instruments both for personal use as well as to begin a conversation with others, mirroring a comfortability with introversion but also a desire for attention and interaction. I operate under the assumption (or delusion) that everything is part of a performance to convey a charming but otherworldly outsider status that will draw people to me.
